July 1, 2001, Steven Nora saw a family of four singing ‘California Dream’ vacationing at Peace Lake. After they finished singing, he met one of the family members, Chelsea Burgondorrow.

After a week of being at Peace Lake, Chelsea and Steven became best friends. She went back to her hometown of Potterdam. Despite living an hour apart, Chelsea knew Steven would become a published author while Steven knew she would become a top selling singer. They predicted they would be married to each other in the future. One day while they were playing basketball, the ball got loose and went on the road. Her younger brother Chris ran onto the road to get the ball. A car going 25 miles over the speed limit hit Chris and killed him instantly.

Chelsea became a top selling singer while Steven worked as a housekeeper at Peace Lake Nursing Home with her dad as his boss.

While Steven continued to shine in his life, Chelsea made the headlines for all the wrong reasons. One day she opened a package from Steven, his first published book, ‘The Singer’. After reading his book several times, she decided to make a surprise visit to see Steven. The visit opened her eyes as she discovered what true love was and found out her dad was having an affair.

Chelsea moved back to Peace Lake for good, hoping to keep her dream alive by being married to Steven, but also help her parents cope with the tragedy of losing Chris. She discovers that Peace Lake is no longer ‘Peace’ as people were doing everything right in their own eyes.

Jimi Henderson, a resident at Peace Lake Nursing Home, was there on that awful day and saw firsthand how Drake was treated. When Jimi ate his first lunch at Peace Lake Nursing Home, he knew it was Drake’s cooking. One day, he saw Drake talking to the residents in the main dining room. Jimi invited Drake into his room to reach out to him. Day after day, Drake stopped by to talk to Jimi after work. While Drake needed Jimi’s guidance, Jimi needed Drake’s friendship as well.

Jennifer Boringmore, registered nurse at Peace Lake Nursing Home and single, dreams about being in love. She feels like God was punishing her for her past mistakes. What she does not realize is that God has a plan, and his timing is perfect.

Pastor Dennis Davis’ marriage with Vanessa Davis is on the brink. He misses his best friend “the late” Eric Perth all time. Gone are the days of being on fire with God. He preaches “Feel Good” messages instead.

Allow me the opportunity to tell you about this book. This book is divided into eight chapters. Each chapter stands on its own except for one major commonality. Each chapter is about life on Earth sometime before the Rapture of the Church. All real Christians will disappear at that time. The author is not predicting the time of the Rapture, but can say or write that it is on its way. However; I have known people to not use common sense and not prepare themselves for the long haul. It may take place before I can finish writing this sentence or a hundred years from now or who knows? All true Christians need to be about the Master's business. I am not going to go over every chapter, but briefly write about the first chapter. All chapters start with the notion that the year is 2081. This date was chosen as a warning to people who are depending on the Rapture taking place in a year or less and are not prepared for the so called long haul. Remember that tomorrow you could die!

The first chapter starts off about the preacher of a floating church on the Pierre Part Bayou, in the State of Louisiana preparing to preach a sermon. The congregation is overwhelmed at slapping mosquitoes that are biting them. The older sisters are determined to control the young people making much racket. A pause in the church service takes place and the story wanders back in time centered around a man named Martin LaFront. Martin was a monster of a man standing at 7’ 7” and weighing over six hundred pounds. The rest of the chapter is about this human giant in mortal battle with the largest bear in that part of the country in three or four centuries. They rightly named him Old Killer Bear!

I believe my readers will enjoy the story of Samantha Elkland whose childhood was a difficult one. As her life unfolds, she finds what has been lacking and preventing her from having a busy and productive career and also discovers there is much more. This book gave me the opportunity to celebrate the great state of Texas and to appreciate the historical past of my Oklahoma history.

A Parable of the End begins in ancient Egypt. It takes the reader to the beginning of an evil plot against humanity. It involves the governments in the world and the United States in a multifaceted battle between good and evil.

The saga unfolds to detail an inspirational commitment in living a godly life and draws you nearer to God and Jesus Christ. In a parable description it explains God’s word, the causes of why and how the mind when deceived accepts the cares of its own way. It takes the reader through death and the understanding that our purpose far exceeds our human life.

A Parable of the End offers the reader truth that God’s promise is indeed for all people, through repentance and reconciliation. The issues of spiritual salvation and Satan’s efforts to prevent the second coming of Jesus Christ combine to render an amalgamation of mystery and adventure!
