This is a story of fantasy and hard cold facts beginning with a pizza party given by the “Big Fat Cat” prima donna of the microbe family.

The party was given in honor of Albus, the Colonel’s offspring. Guests were the Streptococci, Pnemococci, Gonococci, Meningococci, Diphtheria, E. Coli, Typhoid, Dysentery, Tetanus and Botulinum. TB used a cellphone to call in sick, because a human he had infected with TB returned the favor as a carrier and infected TB with Tuberculosis.

Music suddenly split the air with Beethoven’s 3rd Sonato in Asia Minor. The Dayton Place Hot Tomato Philharmonic Orchestra revved it up while the microbes did the ‘Hokey Pokey’ and the intricate ‘Two Step’.

The young bacteria went to school to learn about epidemics.

The book ends with two fine collections of microscopes and bacteria.

If you are a high school or college student and are interested in or are studying in the area of science you should definitely read this book. You could use it for help in writing reports and to become informed about epidemics which attack everyone.

Public libraries could use this as a student reference. Precautionary steps to prevent disease are mentioned as important advice to every reader. These steps recommended by the medical profession may save the reader’s life. The warning steps should be practiced at home and the constant sterilization of eating utensils are of utmost importance, plus all other medical advice published.

In this book you will find full chapters of information on Smallpox, Polio, Bubonic Plague, Legionnaire’s Disease, Cholera, Ebola, Marburg and AIDS.

This book describes some of our popular scientific theories and their related problems. It also explains additional aspects of current science issues so that you, the reader, can decide what to believe. Scientific theories and answers given by the news media to science related questions are usually reported as accepted facts, but what is reported is not always accurate. In addition, most news services provide only the politically correct views on most subjects (such as global warming) and ignore other information about these subjects.

The Introduction is an example of a house that is either new or is 150 years old-perhaps you can determine its age. This is followed by a description of the Big Bang theory and its problems, the ages of the Sun, Earth, and Moon, and another example of an object whose age is difficult to define. Other subjects covered are global warming, our energy problems, the ages of the dinosaurs, evolution, intelligent design, the accuracy of the Bible, and simple descriptions of some related natural laws.

A History of the Fur Trade in South Dakota and the Upper Missouri

In this fascinating study, Professor Aaron Woodard sheds new light on an old subject - the fur trade in the Upper Missouri. Concentrating particularly on his own state of South Dakota, Woodard weaves a tale of international intrigue, vicious Indian fights and heroic mountain men.

Woodard uses government documents and primary evidence to illustrate the grave danger confronting the American fur trading fraternity during the War of 1812. Woodard notes that but for the resolute actions of individual mountain men, the Upper Missouri could well have become another English colony, while the United States as we know it today would never have been created.

Woodard also examines the key role played by Native Americans as the fur trade became big business. Indians were not simply tricked into trading with whites - Woodard notes that a complex relationship developed between traders and their Indian partners, often involving marriages and family interaction.

The book also profiles individual traders and Mountain Men such as Pierre Chouteau, Manuel Lisa and the legendary Jedediah Smith - all of whom had hair raising adventures in the Upper Missouri. Readers will learn of Smith’s narrow escape from a marauding Grizzly Bear, and of early battles between trappers and Indian tribes.

Any reader interested in early American frontier history or the fur trade and Mountain Men will find this an excellent and exciting reading adventure as well as a reliable and useful reference tool. The book is also generously illustrated with maps, western art and drawings by Frederick Remington and George Catlin.

Some have called him a slave, minister, a family man, murderer, and a revolutionary. Nat Turner is the controversial figure who rose from the ashes of obscurity to leaving and indelible impression of religious rigor and bloodshed on the very fabric of America; and quite possibly the world. Here is the story of a slave who was one of body but not of the mind and the spirit. Nat Turner, a slave himself, who would lead (60) other slaves to commit the unthinkable…the murder of (55) white women and children during the slave revolt at Southampton, Virginia in 1831. Even after his eventual capture and subsequent execution, Nat Turner stood by his actions and convictions because he believed that he was an instrument of God, and if it required the killing of white women and children to bring America into the light that its own hands were purged in the blood of the African slave; so be it!

In this book I plan to chronicle who the real Nat Turner was…a slave, minister, and finally, an African American hero. I will utilize scholarly books from noted authors who proved that many of us have been mis-educated about Nat Turner.

Patrick Henry who history scholars call one of the Founding Fathers once said “Give me liberty or give me death”. Nat Turner attempted to take liberty by force for the freedom of all African American slaves, and in the end welcomed death with open arms.
