Broderick-Donaldson Construction was contracted to build a luxury condo for some very wealthy clients. Eight months into the project things take a turn for the worse when there are several unexplained accidents that cost the company time, money and a possible class action law suit.

A plan needed to be formed to get the development back on track so Jared Broderick was called in to help. He’d certainly have his work cut out for himself as one mishap after the next continues to happen. One of the only people who seemed concerned was an on-site engineer, Michelle Jacobs, a sassy, high spirited woman with a mind as sharp as her razor backed tongue.

For there to be any hope of success, they have to join forces to save the company’s reputation and the project. That would be hard enough especially when there was no one left to help save them….

The story, which takes place in the nineteen-seventies, is about a young couple, Dan Merak, an electrical engineer in his mid-twenties, and his wife, Kim, an avid autograph collector. It is told in the first person by Dan, who Kim has persuaded to transfer from Boston to the southern branch of the company he works for, which is in Washington, D. C.

The story opens with them en route to Washington, D. C. Upon their arrival they discover that Kim is being stalked by a spirit which is determined to murder her. Dan enlists the aid of the famous parapsychologist, Dr. Edmond Franz, an Austrian. Dr. Franz acknowledges the plight of the tormented couple, and probes Kim’s subconscious to reveal a spirit who occasionally emerges; a colonial girl named Gabriela.

As the plot develops, the stalking of Kim intensifies. Dr. Franz, sympathetic of Dan’s desperation, becomes his mentor and introduces him to the Out Of Body Experience, the only way for Dan to fight for Kim’s life. Dan is then confronted with a deviation from his inherent beliefs. Dan must die in order for Kim to live. An account is given of Dan’s struggle within himself to overcome his mortal fears as he enters death’s corridor in his attempt to cross over to the other side.

Together, in a colonial setting established for the task, Dr. Franz and Dan experiment with methods previously utilized. Through various encounters Dan unravels spirits which influence the intriguing outcome.

It is the post war period in Ontario, Canada, and Jed and Jessica Oaks, twelve year old twins, are living a completely happy life on a farm with their grandparents. Suddenly everything goes wrong. A terrible automobile crash robs them of the only family they have ever known. Their natural parents have no other choice but to be reunited with children they barely know. With no other option possible, off they all go together to start a new life in Toronto.

Their plan to be a family becomes an impossible goal. Big city life is not for the twins. Their parents, however, cannot tolerate farm life. The result is that through a set of odd circumstances, the twins are left living on their own. To survive and to escape the clutches of the Children’s Services, they must figure out a way to live without attracting attention to themselves. Their greatest fear, because of their young age, is the possibility of being taken up by Children’s Services and placed in separate foster homes. On Our Own tells the story of how these unique children learn not only to survive, but to achieve great success. There are moments of anguish, and of fear, and even of humour and laughter, while they learn to cope with unexpected problems. The lessons they must learn are many: to trust again, to seek and appreciate friendships and to come to know and accept the true meaning of ‘family.’

Sabrina has only worked at the Miami, Florida airport for a few months when an anonymous customer complaint alters the course of her life forever. Suddenly she must learn to adapt to a completely foreign and dangerous lifestyle – one where there’s no running from her fear or returning to her California-based sister. It’s a world where assassins operate in the dark of night, using unorthodox weapons that she must learn to supply. The man training her is a mischievous green-eyed hunk, but he’s hardly sympathetic to her unfortunate circumstances. Can she shed her mouse-like view on life and embrace her new family, or will she die in the midst of chaos?

Miranda uses her waist-length banana curls and golden-brown eyes to belie how dangerous she can be. As a petite assassin for a secret society, she’s trained to kill monsters – murderers, pedophiles, and rapists – that escape justice. Her love-life is a rollercoaster-like disaster when Sabrina makes her debut into the society. Now she needs to put the men in her life aside long enough to teach Sabrina how to survive in her world. Will betrayal and romance ultimately lead to destruction, or will friendship and loyalty win in the end?
