Ride The World Poems is a collection of poetry about many subjects by Stephen R. Dilley IV and Esteban U. Irigoyen. A must read for everyone who likes unique and insightful poetry.

I shy away from using the word “Poem,” I prefer to use the word “Rhyme.” Though some of these pieces are certainly poems, there’s little or no controversy, profundity, inimicalness, or resentment. Just a few political references. So much of today’s poetry is over my head, not a difficult feat, but you won’t find that in this book. Except for “Alias the Rose” you could read anything in this book in your Sunday school class.

I didn’t start writing until after I retired and my wife passed away. So being a dirty old m... I mean seasoned citizen, most of these rhymes are geared toward seniors and living in a retirement community. Any of the rhymes that have the term “Villager” or “The Villages,” refer to the retirement community where I live.

Most of these pieces were conjured up while sitting in my driveway watching the world pass me by and working my way through a six-pack and a cigar. Something I heard or read stuck in my feeble mind and like an Oreo cookie I’d get the top and the bottom and then fill in the middle.

The stories, some are fiction and some are anecdotes from my childhood.

Sometimes life can be difficult and puts us to the test. I've had many challengers myself. I have endured discrimination when I first came to this country. I have loved, cried, mourned, and through my life experience I was able to transcribe these events into lyrics and poems. And as you read the excerpts that are within these pages, I am certain that you will be able to relate to at least one of them.

To Dream is evidence of a dream come true for me. I hope To Dream will encourage you to utilize the gifts, talents, and abilities you have been entrusted. Dreams are just dreams until you make an effort to accomplish them. I hope you will enjoy the poetry and narrative.

This is the second book of Christian poetry I’ve written. Like the first, it is meant to praise God, be encouraging, and show that God is always present. I pray that these books touch someone’s heart and bring them closer to Jesus.

The purpose of this collection of poetry is solely to lift up the name of Jesus and to inspire those who choose to read it. It is Christian in scope and is designed to motivate folk to come to God, to come to Jesus, and to confess Him as Lord and Savior of their lives. And once you finish the book? Pass it on to a loved one, a neighbor, a coworker.

Hopefully one or more of the pieces featured will inspire someone to do something positive, to believe in God and Jesus, and to better their lives and those around them.

Just the Image of Me is a collection of poetry and writings by Elbert Lee Sharp. Sharp provides us with his reflections of growing up in rural Arkansas and never quite making it (in his words) to “the right side of the tracks.” His work shows great humor, humility, and a deep love for the outdoors. He tells us to never take anything for granted, that we are responsible for our own happiness, and that how we deal with the challenges in our life determine who we really are.
