Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah
and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far has
the Lord helped us.” I Samuel 7:12
This book is the “stone” that my grandchildren and
great grandchildren may know that the Lord is
trustworthy and has helped us thus far.
He has taken me from the childhood cry “Who’s going to
rock me?” to the knowledge that “In His presence is
fullness of joy.”
Through open doors,
By streams of living waters,
In resting places with Him day by day,
‘Mid earthly battlefields
And this world’s sorrows,
He taught me, fed me, led me all the way.

My book, Prose and Poetry from the Heart: A Walk
of Faith, will console your soul and stir your
imagination. The book consisting of two separate
sections, Humanity and Nature, will spiritually impact
the reader.
Recently, my manuscript was reviewed by Christian
Services Network of El Cahon, California. In that review
Dr. Michael Wourms, Founder and President said, “the
book would entice many readers because it is full of
wonderful truth and spiritual wisdom, as well as
artistic splendor!”
Still lamenting further, Dr. Wourms said “he would pray
that God would facilitate the printing and distributing
of this valuable addition to Christian literature.” A
final comment: “This truly is a treasure-chest of
spiritual insights.”
By reading my book, readers may come to a greater
appreciation and acceptance of God’s purpose for their
own lives here on earth.

The question of why Cain killed his brother Abel is one
of the most enduring mysteries of the Bible. In Cain and
Abel, the day’s events surrounding the murder are
brought to life in rich, textured yet crystal-clear
blank verse. Powerful, intelligent characters drive

The Spirit of a Poet was written in the short time that
I was incarcerated. Being locked away from society gave
me time to reflect and to look inside myself. You will
find that there are a few poems in this book that talk
about prison.
The one that I enjoyed writing the most was To Jail With
Me. As I mentioned before in my previous book, when my
back is against the wall, I can write some pretty good
stuff. However, this time I had to borrow some of my
work from Blind Poet to complete this book.
I hope that you enjoy reading this book as much as I did
writing it. If you find yourself in any of these poems,
there is a scripture on the following page to coincide
with it.

We fight a daily battle,
the longest struggle ever known.
Kicked and scarred and beaten,
we do not fight this one alone.
Pain. Suffering. Addictions. Mourning. Hope. Eternal
life. God’s love. Jesus on the cross. Salvation.
Redemption.
Through it all, God is in control. He knows our pain,
understands our weaknesses, and yet He loves us enough
to send His Son to die on the cross for our iniquities.
These poems explore the depths of how far man can go on
the path to self-destruction, and how God will go even
farther to bring us back from the brink, to comfort us,
heal us, and know how great He really is.
We are not alone. We suffer together - cry, laugh, and
encourage one another - always keeping an eye on heaven
and the price Christ paid for our souls, and of His
never-ending love, grace, and forgiveness.
Walk with me.

refresh, inspire, uplift and bring hope to the weary
soul. It is an assortment of hopeful poems about ups
and downs, determination and setbacks, self evaluation
and salvation, hopes and dreams, friendship and prayer
all with a scriptural flair. Some of the poems are
lengthy and some are short, some are dramatic and some
are simply to the point. Feel free to pick a poem to
your liking in this poetic bouquet.

You will enjoy reading A Poem A Day.”

Within this inspirational, ecumenical work of art, among
its cleverly written fun-to-read rhyming pages is the
greatest story ever told. From Genesis to Revelation
God’s message is still the same, it’s just been written
for the time in which we live. God said in His book of
Ecclesiastes; that there is a time and a purpose for
everything under the sun. He must have known that His
Word would be written in such a way ~ as to reach out
to the teen and hurried man of modern day. A TIME TO
RHYME introduces God’s Word for such a time as this.
God’s rhyming Word in just 249 pages can do what no
other book can, serving as a great educational tool
making Bible study lots of fun, while having the
potential to encourage actual Bible reading.

A Journey Along the Way is inspirational
poetry that offers a unique view of how people, love and
nature affect our lives. It raises questions that can
only be answered through one’s own soul searching. It is
a piece of art to bring glory to our risen Savior.
Although life may change, love is always constant. The
poetry challenges you to know who you are, where you are
going and what you are destined to do.
“I wish to lend a hand, if ever the time arise
to someone in need of help, unless my offer they despise.”
From Ole Road of Life -Donna Banks-Diggs
