Scuttlebutts and Notions

Small towns are like family, everyone in town knows everyone intimately. You can’t keep a secret for long. You tell a rumor to someone in the barbershop, and the rumor will be all over town the next day, with several different versions. It seems that some in town purposely start rumors to see how fast they will spread. And another thing about small towns, especially towns down South in bygone days, is the number of people that have such great knowledge, even though some of them never went to school a day in their lives. They have an opinion about everything. Small towns are full of “Scuttlebutts and Notions”. That’s what makes living in a small town so much fun. I love it. That’s what this book is about.
