A local city hairstylist – divorced, with two daughters, has her life interrupted and suddenly changed to rise to the occasion – of a calling from the Lord – to walk in the Prophet Office. The breakdown process, the teachings, the instructions, the gifts and anointings; and the overall building up of what the Lord calls “THE PROPHET,” discharged with an end time assignment!

As God gave me the concept of the first sermon based on the title of the soap opera, One Life To Live, my wife started naming of the other soap operas that have come on over our lives since we first got our television back in the late fifties. The Spirit of the Lord started speaking to my heart to write a series of sermons that would chronicle these soap opera titles. As my mind and spirit focused on what could become of this effort, God pushed me a little further to enclosed these sermons in a book called The Soap Opera Chronicles. I sat down late one night and as God gave me the inspiration I was able to pull biblical scriptures that would best suit the message intent that God would have me to portray in my writings. One by one God would give me an inspiring scripture that lit up the pages of each message to tell the old-old story.

I hope that through this book, men, women, boys and girls that religiously watch the soaps would look at these series of sermons as a message that may speak to their heart and ask the question, what must I do to be saved? I hope that as you read them one by one and reflect back on your life, God will use them to help you realize that life is not a soap opera if it is grounded and rooted in Christ. As I chose each of the soap operas based on name and storyline, I wanted to express in each sermon a spiritual message that would draw attention to each reader about his or her relationship with God. Each name of the selected soap opera would have a divine message in the name itself and then when coupled with Biblical scripture, it would open up the mysteries of God’s word to the everyday student of the soap operas in a way that they have never seen before. The simple gospel message portrayed through the parody of these soap operas to reveal Christ. I know for myself that without God, life can be a soap opera. The Bible says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding.” If you would trust in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ life will become a reality of truth, not a soap opera of lies.

Lord, Teach Me How to Pray is a Christian devotional for children 8 years old and up; and for young adults who want to pray, but do not know how to approach God in prayer. The book promotes useful Christian values and instructs young minds how to be Christ-like and godly. It teaches biblical concepts and acts as a basic practice source for children and young adults to begin serving the Lord.

Ephesians points to the very complex plight into which modern society finds itself: Islam, violence, hate, political correctness, denial, corruption of many varieties, and on and on. Ephesians shows the way to consistency, stability and victory in every believer’s life – here and hereafter. Nothing shall be impossible to the believer! Nothing is too hard or complicated for the Father to handle and He extends that ability to His Faithful.

The Attitude of the Apostle Paul and the Church Today

This book is written by a New Testament scholar. It deals with the problem of gender and equality in the church. It addresses the one-sidedness in the church that creates male privileges to the disadvantage of women. This situation creates a state of inequality in the Household of God. As a result, in some churches, there is a male reserved sacrament. Consequently, women are denied the right of ordination. Alternatively, they are not appointed to senior ministry positions. The reason for this is because they are women. The author calls it gender profiling. This unfair practice presents God in bad light because it makes him a gender-obsessed deity. Hence, God is made to take sides in our gender struggle. He is made to be the patron of men. Conversely, he is presented as an anti feminist deity, who looks down on women with disdain. Accordingly, God is falsely made to be the author of gender inequality, which He is not. Against this background, the author shows that every Christian is equal. The “no male, no female” in Paul is used to underline this. In other words, gender inequality is a man-made problem. It is not divinely ordained. This means that the churches can change it, if and when they want. The only hindrance the author foresees is power intoxication by a male clergy unwilling to share authority with women in the church. In a church where men are almost becoming an endangered specie the fear of an unpredictable power contest with women becomes a sufficient discouragement from allowing them to participate fully in the ministry of the church. As long as women are kept out, there is less competition and job security for men is assured. However, the facts presented in this book show several instances from Paul, which establish the equality of the genders. In view of this, the author advocates for a Christianity of equals, where gender discrimination will be relic of a bye gone age. As a result, the author proposes a non-discriminatory model of ecclesiology for the whole of Christendom. His final prayer is for a Christianity in which the equality of man and woman will be meticulously, religiously and conscientiously upheld. The good outcome of this will be the suspension of patriarchal privileges and the establishment of a level playing ground for all Christians.

This is an interesting book for all those who believe in divine justice, fairness and equity.
