It was hard to imagine how deep the hurt would become when the news was given us. P-Nut wouldn’t be coming home and the house would be silent, cold and empty. Even though there are two of us in the house the presence of P-Nut filled up all the empty spaces.

This book isn’t just about P-Nut, but all the great dogs we have been associated with. I’m reluctant to say we owned them, because I truly believe they owned us. In their own way, they let us know what we did right and what needed attention.

They were quick to forgive us when we made a mistake and continued on as if nothing ever happened. Their unqualified love and devotion was unsurpassed. They couldn’t smile or talk, but their tail said volumes.
