Quantity in Basket: none
ISBN: 978-1-60862-367-9 Edition: Paperback, 215 Pages Publication Date: March 6, 2012 Other Editions: Hardcover | The Nile Queen is a story involving two of the world’s greatest universities – the world’s oldest Al Azhar of Cairo, Egypt, and one of America’s greatest universities, the University of Chicago. The United States Department of State under the direction of Mrs. Clinton initiated a cultural exchange between the two great universities to enhance the relations between the two countries.
America is not popular with the Egyptian people, with
polls indicating that 65percent of Egyptians do not
look favorably upon the United States. Mrs. Clinton is
using this approach to create a better understanding
between the two cultures.
The Egyptian contingent is headed by a brother and
sister team – Amana and Moese Krafar. They each received
their MD degrees from Oxford, the great English
University.
Amana is a beautiful lady, popularly referred to by her
adoring public as the “Nile Queen”. She and Moese are
active teaching in their profession within the Al Azhar
University.
The FBI is alarmed in knowing of the agreement between
the two universities, fearing that the Egyptian
delegation may be infiltrated with radical Islamic
members, who may wish to use this exchange to plot
injury to the United States within the Great Lake area
of Chicago.
The story deals with this possibility, and what the FBI
used to counter this danger.

Tweaking ‘C, cubed’ By: A. M. Brooke
Code:TWEAK-PB Price:
$20.95
Quantity in Basket: none
ISBN: 978-1-60862-373-0 Edition: Paperback, 407 Pages Publication Date: February 17, 2012 | In the very early hours of a mid-October morning, the
small town of Barrow’s Slide is rocked by a gruesome
incident in the form of a brutal murder of one of its
native sons. And even though the suspect immediately
confesses, what would normally be considered an open
and shut case takes an unexpected turn when one
investigating officer uncovers an unusual item at the
crime scene which could possibly connect it to another,
yet-unsolved case – one of arson/murder that had taken
place in this otherwise sleepy community four years
earlier.
And while many regard this find as a fortunate accident,
Max O’Connell – recognized, at only thirty-six years
old, as one of the top legal minds in the nation – does
not. In his world, there are no accidents; however,
neither are any situations preordained. He firmly
believes that every action of every individual is
generated solely by a self-perpetuating cycle of
circumstance, choice, and consequence. For the sake
of brevity, he has labeled this concept, ‘C, cubed’.
Yet he doesn’t, and never has disputed the existence
of Karma; and the rapid-fire sequence of events – some
hilarious, some horrifying, some a combination of both –
which takes place over the next four days is so bizarre,
that he sees it working all around him, not only in
dispensing retribution to those deserving it, but also
by bringing his heretofore inflexible philosophy to the
point of needing a ‘serious tweaking’, as his best
friend puts it. And after the dust has settled, he finds
himself having no ‘choice’ other than to do exactly
that.

Code:AHB-PB Price:
$16.95
Quantity in Basket: none
ISBN: 978-1-60862-300-6 Edition: Paperback, 284 Pages Publication Date: June 6, 2011 | In November, 1934, Major General Smedley D. Butler,
USMC (Ret) appeared before the House Un-American
Activities subcommittee in New York City. He testified
that he had been approached by representatives of a
group of influential businessmen to lead a junta and
take control of the national’s capital, removing
President Roosevelt from office.
Though taken seriously by the Congressmen, for the most
part, the national press hounded and ridiculed the
general.
Transcripts remaining are so fragmented that little is
left. This novel, by adding several fictitious
characters and events, suggests ways the information the
committee obviously had could have been obtained.
The particulars of General Butler’s military and
civilian careers contained in this work are
accurate.

Darwin Smiled By: John Stchur
Code:DSMILE-PB Price:
$16.95
Quantity in Basket: none
ISBN: 978-1-60862-291-7 Edition: Paperback, 297 Pages Publication Date: May 24, 2011 | The tale of a motherless child gifted with superhuman strength
and the sensual angel who saves him
Darwin Smiled is the amazing story of a
young man named Johnny Leeds, who might easily be
thought of as “the thinking man’s Superman.” Everything
about him is scientifically, physiologically possible
and has historical precedent, surprisingly
well-documented precedent, while the story itself is
written by someone who knows first-hand what it is like
to be in the upper echelons of the strength world, both
personally and as a trainer of numerous exceptional
athletes.
Darwin Smiled, however, is much more than
merely the tale of an eighteen year-old who just happens
to be the most powerful human being to ever walk the
Earth. Fun, somewhat quirky and absolutely unique, it
is also a love story, a mildly erotic novel (at times),
and a tribute to the heroic nature of the unconditional
love given him by two very special women: First is
Julie, the sensual yet nurturing exotic dance instructor
who has been surrogate mother to her twin brothers since
their real mother’s death when she was fifteen and the
boys themselves were still in diapers. And later,
Johnny’s mother Diana, from whom he was stolen when he
was only two. She has never stopped searching, stopped
believing... and she is about to discover the truth.

~ Lylas (love you like a sister) By: Latoya Lee
Code:LYLAS-PB Price:
$14.95
Quantity in Basket: none
ISBN: 978-1-60862-290-0 Edition: Paperback, 217 Pages Publication Date: May 23, 2011 | Broken and defeated by loveless, abusive foster homes
coupled with enduring the mean streets of New York City
renders three, innocent little girls calloused and
hopeless. Rescued and adopted as grown children, they
thought the pain was over. But could the promise of
family and a real future abolish the scars deep in their
souls? Was their sudden ‘rags to riches’ fairy tale
enough to heal over half a decade of unspeakable abuse
and violence?
Lylas (love you like a sister), told from one sister’s
perspective, takes you into the lives of three sisters,
post-adoption. Oldest sister Sasha assumed the role of
‘mother’ to her two sisters until Margaret came along.
Never able to forge a relationship with her adoptive
parents, Sasha grew disconnected and vacant, later
succumbing to the lure of the night life. She turns to
alcohol and prostitution to comfort her, feeding her
with the unwavering dependability she so deeply desired.
Middle child, Tricia, hardened and wounded, can’t seem
to escape the painful memories of childhood neglect and
cruelty. Her abandonment issues shackle her to a
seemingly lifelong fear of intimacy as she grapples
with drug abuse, eating disorders and agonizing
loneliness. Little sister Laila, naïve and vulnerable,
develops penetrating issues of her own despite the years
of coddling and nurturing shown to her from all in her
path. Her naïveté later gives way to victimization as
she is reduced to a mere target for every physically
abusive man and woman with which she becomes intimate.
The story draws on real life events to tell the tale of
the sisters’ journey from childhood to adulthood,
documenting poignant trials and tribulations along
the way. The girls find that the brutal beginning that
once cemented their bond ultimately becomes the wedge
that fragments their fragile relationship, nearly
destroying their connection forever. Through patience,
understanding, spirituality and love, the sisters fight
to find their way back into one another’s lives and
hearts.

Porto Diablo: a child’s life, a divine entity was
shamelessly bartered as a commodity in the market of
venality.
But the child was already dead and a corpse had no human
value. So, if by dying that child could bequeath a
windfall and provide some tangible economic relief for
her destitute family, then no one could say that she
died in vain.
The sad memories would soon fade and the harsh pains
would slowly abate while the money would ignite bitter
squabbles because every relative would demand an
equitable share…a sordid price that the dead had
bestowed upon the living as a human sacrifice.
Pity, remorse, anguish…were just emotions. The tangible
touch of crisp notes in tight wads spoke with the
eloquence of salvation.
Yes, to the poor went the spoils of death!”

A Bold Experiment By: Lynn H. Bentley
Code:ABE-PB Price:
$13.95
Quantity in Basket: none
ISBN: 978-1-60862-230-6 Edition: Paperback, 144 Pages Publication Date: November 30, 2010 | The story is set in Boston during the late 1970’s and
told by one observer, who remains detached and creates
vivid scenes for the reader as the story unfolds. This
young man is a Viet Nam veteran and recent college
graduate from a Midwestern University, who gets his
first job as a special assistant to the main character,
a company CEO. He quickly learns that his boss has a
shady past that could include government espionage. He
is the only person in the book who is not corrupted by
the extreme desire to accumulate wealth and live the
“good life”.
Most of the other primary characters have confused and
fleeting values and their own unique form of moral
decay. One of the most flamboyant members of the CEO’s
executive team consistently demonstrates selfish and
arrogant behavior and flaunts the relationship with his
mistress to coworkers and friends. His wife, who was
raised as a “southern bell”, comes from old money and
tries to create a warm, exciting image but the readers
slowly learn that she is as self centered as her husband
and much colder. Her best friend creates a smoke screen
of apparent virtue to cover her cowardice and dishonesty
to support the denial of her true amoral nature.
The Boston “social scene” puts the main character on a
pedestal which further magnifies the reality that he is
a tragic hero who has worked feverishly to reach the top
tier of society that remains beyond his reach. The
primary symbols of wealth and power are ostentatious,
richly furnished and massive “high rise” homes that
overlook the city and Boston Harbor. The narrator is
pulled into the role of “match maker” for his boss
and his team member’s wife. They mutually rekindle a
relationship that they believed had ended several years
earlier. Our hero’s sordid past crashes into the trail
of deceit that they create, causing the two deaths to
end the story.

The Island was bucolic and idyllic… about one hundred

The troops were frozen in fear… as they eyed the
approaching enemy their fear eased… those advancing
toward them did not bear arms. The troops gratefully
accepted the repast offered.
“We’re here to arrest you.” Seamus stepped back. “I
don’t think so. What for? What are the charges?”
“No, the judge said that he did not know how to write a

“Well excuse me yourself. The no smoking rule is yours,

multi-billionaire Walker provided a refuge at Maison du
Renard Rouge for abused, abandoned, or simply forgotten
elderly men and women. Even a century-old mystery,
romantic intrigue, bigamy, and a serial killer could
not disturb the safe haven he had created. When the
bones of a murdered child were found underneath his
centuries-old mansion, though, Walker swore he would
honor her in some way.
Because of that promise, he added a modern orphanage,
Hannah Edgeworth’s Home for Found Children, to his

histories of some youngsters who find their way to
the safety of Hannah’s Home.
Meanwhile, those adults living at Walker’s ancient
mansion, Maison du Renard Rouge, must contend with a
terrifying kidnapping connected to sadistic murders
from the past. There are also some lighter moments
including a silly yet heartfelt proposal. Since no home
for children is complete without animals, included are
some adventures of a gray dog named Valentine and

That’s something that I’d been doing ever since I was
sixteen years old. I’m now twenty-six. Truth be told
I’ve been through some stuff, I’ve sold my body for
money, drugs, and favors, I’ve worked in a club as a
nude stripper, yes I’ve been down some dark paths in
my life, I was raped not one time but twice the second
time I thought that I was going to die at the hands of
my attackers. I lost my mama to death and lost my daddy
to the Federal State Prison. But by the Grace of God I’m
still standing better than I was before, because you see
I found someone who saved me. Someone who helped me make
sense of it all. To some people, I’m just another sad
story to listen to but to other people I’m a living and
a walking testimony in how the Lord Jesus Christ can
save, heal and deliver anyone. To God be all The

joined the artifacts of Roman legions. Morton recalled
the changing emotional pattern that mellowed the
thoughtless courage of youth and replaced it with
inarticulate knowledge, unspoken understanding, and
kindness, from the comradeship shared in sacrifice. He
recalled the words echoed in Fort Knox, “Music is a

Quantity in Basket: none
ISBN: 978-1-60862-036-4 Edition: Paperback, 417 Pages Publication Date: May 18, 2009 | Wrightsville Beach begins when Doctor
David Smith and his lovely wife Brenda Pridgen Smith,
and their two children, Dan and Betty, leave Boston
Massachusetts and move to the Pridgen Plantation located
just outside of Atkinson, NC. Doctor Smith is a
geologist and an oceanographer of considerable fame.
His wife, Brenda, earned her doctorate in education at
Boston University. David, who was head of the science
department at Boston University, gives up his prestigious
position to become the second in command at the science
department at the University of North Carolina at
Wilmington.
When Brenda’s Boston
family take their first look at the mega size Southern
Plantation House, they are amazed! David will be working
at UNCW next January of the following year. This gives
Brenda’s Boston family plenty of opportunity to explore
the nearly fifty thousand acre plantation. David and his
children feel like they have stepped back in time over
two hundred years.
Read all about David and
Brenda’s experience when the two are invited by Uncle
Roy Henry to a party. The ghost stories are very
intriguing! Brenda and her famous husband get up enough
nerve to visit the grounds of a magnificent private
chapel near the French Chateau, and the amazing garden
behind the huge dwelling. When David and Brenda explore
the strange cemetery on this property, they realize that
they have crossed a line, a dimension that science
cannot explain and will always deny possible.
The Smiths move to a
beautiful Spanish style mansion across the sound and
Intracoastal Water Way at Wrightsville Beach, NC. The
place is gorgeous! Doctor Smith, while doing research
for UNCW, takes a team of scientists off the continental
shelf in The Sea King, a large two hundred foot research
ship. Doctor Smith wanted to learn why the region has
experienced several earthquakes recently. The scientists
come to the unthinkable conclusion that the entire
continental shelf out from Wrightsville Beach is in
danger of collapsing, which would generate a huge
tsunami that would destroy the town.
Doctor Smith is relieved
of his position at UNCW because he has predicted a
tsunami sometime between August and the end of
September. Unfortunately, he was correct and the wave
destroys the beach town. Wrightsville Beach will
eventually rebuild. David’s boss, Doctor Fletcher,
immediately loses his job at UNCW and Doctor David Smith
is asked by Doctor Julia DeVann Corbett, the famous
Chancellor of the University, to take his boss’s
position as head of the science department.

before and could happen again. The time is ten years in
the future. Political turmoil and small wars are
globally common. Plagues and famine are commonplace.
Diseases are prevalent at all levels of society,
especially sexually transmitted ones such as AIDS and
the variations that have developed from it. Paranoia
and distrust run high among people as the media spreads
lies and fear. Due to our political system playing off
that fear, the United States has established a total
health system to a degree more invasive of human rights
and more savagely enforced than could have been imagined
during the plague of the Middle Ages.
We are entering our story shortly after the passage of a
Federal health-protection law which provides for
mandatory testing and reporting requirements, as well as
penalties for infected persons and even minor dissenters
of the system in addition to establishment of
concentration camps and even, secretly, executions for
the main spokesmen of the Resistance.
Bernie, who heads the Resistance, is arrested by Federal
agents and taken to a concentration camp where both
diseased inmates and anti-government resistance leaders
are kept. When Rick learns of this, he appeals to his
father to use his political connections to get Bernie
out, totally unaware that his father is a strong
supporter of the system that put him there.

Quantity in Basket: none
ISBN: 978-1-59824-874-6 Edition: Paperback, 357 Pages Publication Date: September 17, 2008 | The battle with the gang that almost took over Italy is
over with. Doctor La Spezia visits John at his mother’s
villa and once again invites him and his girlfriend,
Doctor Jane Collins, to finish their exploration of the
huge cavern that is beneath Rome University. While
exploring the great cavern, Doctor La Spezia shows his
guests the inside of one of the temples of Hades. So
terrible was the sight before them that Doctor Corbit
and his friend Jane Collins felt the urge to flee. John
Corbit says this in his account:
“Truly this was like
looking over on what people call the other side of the
vale, that thin barrier between life as we understand
it and the possibilities of unspeakable sorrow and
unimaginable endless suffering.”
John and his
girlfriend, Jane Collins, visit a famous park on his
island, called The Garden Camp Ground. While at the
park, John and Jane live on a small farm run by a
mountain family from Tennessee. John and his friends
manage to persuade a physician by the name of Doctor
James Wisdom to join his merry band of explorers. Later
in the account, John, Jane Collins, and Doctor Von Brawn
do a preliminary voyage to Loch Ness to determine if a
full scale exploration of where John suspects the
monster dwells is feasible. Jane Latimer, chairperson
over the Loch Ness Committee, is shown film of two great
monsters as they swim past John’s submarine, the Ben
Franklin.
After the preliminary
voyage to the outskirts of Hades, John and Jane Collins
take a much deserved break and fly to Columbia, South
America, to travel through the jungles with a famous
explorer Doctor David Copperfield and his students to a
great mountain that contains a hidden city of great
beauty, mystery and danger. They are almost eaten by a
great serpent. John says this about the snake:
“There was a snake
down there that must have crawled out of a twisted
science fiction writer’s nightmares.”
Finally the great
day came for Doctor John Corbit and his brave crew to
explore the world hidden below the surface of the Earth.
Overhead, hundreds of pleasure craft follow the
Michelangelo, John’s wonder submarine. Down in Hades
John and his crew discover wonders beyond anyone’s
dreams. To quote from Corbit’s account:
“The sheer
magnificence and beauty truly would tax the ability of
mortals to describe! It looks like we have indeed found
the land where dreams come from and beauty was given
birth to!” Join John and his brave crew as they
encounter terror beyond description! I quote:
“Not since men
dwelled in caves before the dawn of history had such an
incident been witnessed! The fish and other life forms
we saw fleeing [from the Loch Ness Monsters] were a
mixed multitude of every ugly, bizarre, and savage
looking creature imaginable!”

ISBN: 978-1-59824-886-9 Edition: Paperback, 324 Pages Publication Date: August 22, 2008 Other Editions: Hardcover | Michael Balian is a teacher and coach from a small
Midwestern town. His life is comfortable, his work
rewarding. This all changes with the revealing of
prophecy which invades his subconscious thought. As he
tries to understand the meaning behind these nightly
visions, he becomes tied to others. They too have been
visited by dreams, only theirs have directed them to
him. As disaster invades his world, others prepare a
much larger confrontation.
The novel mixes fiction, history and current events to
spark discussion, dialogue and contemplation of the
dangers which exist today. These threats have been faced
before, the only difference is the size and scope of
their effectiveness. The tale combines the energies of
a group of young adults and powerful men who lead the
counter-strike to a terrorist attack meant to bring
down democracy and freedom. The students, a mixture of
personalities, initiate a world-wide dialogue using the
internet to discuss and debate controversial issues. As
calamity strikes, the youthful men and women step
forward into the role of modern day Crusaders. Supported
by men of influence, friends and family the association
bonds together to fight for culture and faith. Financed
by the rich’s of the primeval Knights Templar, the
battle lines are drawn.
The novel combines histories past with a modern
apocalyptic assault on Western society. The response is
horrific and meant to call attention to man’s
inescapable potential. As the Republic falls, its
replacement in the novel is left open. Nevertheless, if
history repeats itself, the outcome has already been
written.
Controversial and philosophic, the author attempts to
promote discussion and discourse among those who follow
faith and culture. Freedom and choice are at the heart
of this story, defending it from the forces of evil, the
goal.

in time through the mind of a young sailor going home
for a funeral. It’s a trip filled with both good and
bad memories of growing up in a “Working Class”
community during the 1950’s. The setting is a small
New England town, replete with its paper and woolen
mills, corner drug store, best friends and bullies.
Imbedded in the story is the mystery of a secret illness
which has changed the life of the main character, his
family and friends.
Marty Belhaus knows there is something wrong in his
neighborhood. He has a prime suspect based on what his
ten year old mind understands and trusts. Layered into
his daily life is the treatment he receives at the hands
of an alcoholic step father, fear of the dark and
surviving the physical threats of the local bully. Added
to this mix are the vagaries and comedies of small town
America. It makes you smile, it makes you cry and it
makes you remember. It touches the hearts and minds of
those who grew up in that era and who understand the
mystery.
