Shadows of Obsession: An Erotic Romance Novel, which cautions us that sometimes one touch, one taste of undulated ecstasy, or a one chance encounter is all it takes to be the object of someone’s affection, or your secret desire to give someone obsessional supremacy.

One woman, whose investigative skills sends her on an unforgettable erotic journey from the neon lights of Las Vegas, to the sultry streets of New Orleans, to the bay area of Baltimore.

Rajeen Nadia Whitlow, a beautiful and sexy charismatic Investigative Journalist for a prestigious newspaper, who has the knack of uncovering featured news-breaking stories. She is on the trail of an elusive female serial killer.

Rajeen enlists the assistance of virile and handsome Dr. Sterling Ambrose, a renowned Forensic Pathologist and Clark County’s Medical Examiner.

Is your true identity really the inner core of your soul? Or, could the erroneous power of such, cause bedlam to its reflected nature?

Jonathon Huntington, a Real Estate Financier, who has an ulterior motive for Rajeen’s sexual prowess. Formerly, a willing captive who escaped the confinements of rapture in his bed. His taste for pleasure, once found in Rajeen’s arms, will set in motion a pace of deceit and emotional obsession.

Moss Manikins, a top Senior Advisor to the president of the United States, accidentally encounters Rajeen. A night of hot passion, a whispered promise, and a future commitment could be on the horizon, or could it all be threatened by Rajeen’s quest for freedom while trying to prove her innocence?

This psychological erotic thriller will set your heart racing, and your pulse pounding. Prepare yourself for a heightened conclusion, which will leave the reader breathless and guilty of the decadent pleasure it arouses.

This Northern Branches story is of a family from the Orkney Islands off the northern tip of Scotland. They immigrated to Missouri under mysterious circumstances. Margaret Anne is the fifth generation of Camerons who have lived in Missouri. She was fulfilling her long cherished dream of spending the summer in Kirkwall before starting graduate school in the fall. A message arrives telling of the death of her grandfather in Missouri. She ends her vacation and returns home on the first available flight.

She reconnects with Luke Sinclair, her childhood friend, whose family live on the adjoining ranch. Margaret Anne and Luke each lived in St. Louis during the year. Luke was a professor of archeology and Margaret Anne was starting work on her master’s degree in history.

The following summer they returned to Orkney and started working on the mystery surrounding Margaret Anne’s family. They soon confirmed what Margaret Anne had long suspected. “I expect this out of you Seth. It didn’t really shock me hearing that you were a hired killer. But my son, now that is a hard pill to swallow. You’ve always had the grace of your mother and her compassion and her heart. All the things I wanted you to have and nothing of me.” He looked up at the ceiling for a moment then he sighed and turned to them.

“But instead you look like me, Christ you even stand like me. There is no doubt left in anyone’s mind you belong to me. But I didn’t want you to be like me Jamie. Don’t get lost in the lust for the kill. The joy it brings and the sadness it leaves behind when you’re old enough to understand it.”

The story is set in Boston during the late 1970’s and told by one observer, who remains detached and creates vivid scenes for the reader as the story unfolds. This young man is a Viet Nam veteran and recent college graduate from a Midwestern University, who gets his first job as a special assistant to the main character, a company CEO. He quickly learns that his boss has a shady past that could include government espionage. He is the only person in the book who is not corrupted by the extreme desire to accumulate wealth and live the “good life”.

Most of the other primary characters have confused and fleeting values and their own unique form of moral decay. One of the most flamboyant members of the CEO’s executive team consistently demonstrates selfish and arrogant behavior and flaunts the relationship with his mistress to coworkers and friends. His wife, who was raised as a “southern bell”, comes from old money and tries to create a warm, exciting image but the readers slowly learn that she is as self centered as her husband and much colder. Her best friend creates a smoke screen of apparent virtue to cover her cowardice and dishonesty to support the denial of her true amoral nature.

The Boston “social scene” puts the main character on a pedestal which further magnifies the reality that he is a tragic hero who has worked feverishly to reach the top tier of society that remains beyond his reach. The primary symbols of wealth and power are ostentatious, richly furnished and massive “high rise” homes that overlook the city and Boston Harbor. The narrator is pulled into the role of “match maker” for his boss and his team member’s wife. They mutually rekindle a relationship that they believed had ended several years earlier. Our hero’s sordid past crashes into the trail of deceit that they create, causing the two deaths to end the story.

His wife was a social butterfly who could never get enough of the good life. She loved her husband but she resented Darla to the point of excluding her from everything that she and Adam planned for the rest of their lives. Adam and his wife died together in an explosion that destroyed the family home. His untimely death opened new doors for Darla and her birth mother. Darla was twenty-six years of age when she learned that her biological mother had been in a nursing home since she was two. Complications from a poorly administered epidural caused paralysis and Marion spent many years alone. With the help of a friend, Darla managed to reunite with her mother. She was in her mid twenties when she learned her nanny was really her maternal grandmother!

Darla became a wealthy woman at the age of twenty-four. She also held a law degree and strong and uncontrollable passions to help other less fortunate. Most of her inheritance came from the stepmother, who didn’t love her, yet Darla remembered there must have been good in her or her father couldn’t have loved her so deeply. Seth watched for a moment and waited for everyone to be sitting around the table.

“Ok something has to give here. I want to know what the hell is going on around here. Someone start talking to me,” he said as he looked around the table. Tara smiled and reached into her lace purse and handed him a letter. He looked at it for a moment then opened it and read it to himself. He set it down and looked straight at Rob.

“So what does this mean?” he asked. Geoffrey cleared his throat and smiled at him.

“It means you are the richest man in Texas and with that comes a wealth of things. Maids and fancy settings on tables and a barrage of the best things that people can offer you. You now have the biggest ranch in Texas. Just like I still own the largest plantation in Atlanta, with that comes the respect of everyone around you.”
