psychology. Psychology makes the transformation into
the scientific study of behavior and in doing many
theorists step forward to interpret not only behavior

PROPERTIES of DREAMS: A NEW THEORY of DREAMING By: John P. Rogowski, M.D. Price:
$12.95
Quantity in Basket: none
ISBN: 978-1-60862-303-7 Edition: Paperback, 169 Pages Publication Date: August 10, 2011 | All of the 6.8 billion dreamers who inhabit this planet,
awakened at one time or another, amazed, puzzled,
entertained or scared by their dream experience. Many
have wondered about the how and why of dreams. Some have
made it their careers to formally investigate and
explain the phenomenon. None have succeeded.
A retired psychiatrist and amateur astronomer, who has
listened to well over three thousand dreams during the
course of fifty years of psychiatric practice, makes the
effort by suggesting a novel pathway that includes
evolution, relativity and quantum physics. He claims
that just as gravity has its laws, so does dreaming.
He not only lays out his theory but encourages and
guides the reader to perform the simple experiments that
led him to his new theory of dreaming. The book is an
easy read, even for those who are intimidated by the
ever increasing discoveries of non-classical physics.

Importance of Positive Leadership in Today’s Health Care Management By: Josie D. Menelas, MD, MHA Price:
$10.95
Quantity in Basket: none
ISBN: 978-1-60862-285-6 Edition: Paperback, 151 Pages Publication Date: May 10, 2011 | A True Weapon to Conquer the Future
“Importance of Positive Leadership in Today’s Health
Care Management” is a tool, a roadmap, a true weapon to
conquer the future as the health care industry is
becoming a dynamic and more challenging business.
Through this book, positive leadership is proved to be
vital in this time of change in spite of the challenges
surrounding the leaders’ work today, and fundamental in
the administration of health care organizations.
The first chapter is the introduction. The second
chapter presents a review of the literature. The third
chapter describes the methodology used. The fourth
chapter constitutes a specific analysis of all the data
withdrawn from the books about great leadership’s
importance. Finally, the fifth chapter includes a
summary, proposed recommendations for resolution, and
conclusions that can be drawn.
However, this book is strongly recommended to anyone who
wants to be an efficient leader in any field, because it
can help develop qualities of good leadership essential
for career success.
Book Review
I recently had the privilege and pleasure of reading a
profoundly informative book: “Importance of Positive
Leadership in Today’s Health Care Management”, written
by Josie D. Menelas, M.D., M.H.A. As I read it, one of
the first things I noticed was the highly appropriate
subtitle: “A True Weapon to Conquer the Future”. This
book is packed with excellent information regarding
leadership and management, along with their
responsibilities in the health care industry. More
importantly, from cover to cover, its pages contain an
amazing wealth of knowledge that the readers can apply
not only to their particular professional endeavors,
but also to their roles in life. Whether the reader
finds himself or herself serving as a political
official, the director of an important health care
organization, a highly respected dean of a major
university, the pastor of a local church, or even a
housewife, he or she will acquire important tools for
successfully securing the future.
This is not a book that you read and leave on the
bookshelf. This book needs to be kept in a place where
it is readily available at all times, for it is an
invaluable asset to those in all walks of life. Of all
the books I have read on Leadership, this one stands
alone in its ability to help the reader become the best
leader that he or she can be in his or her individual
management position, each with its own unique
responsibilities.

author.
How to approach annuities, taxes and pension plan
borrowing are also discussed as they may apply to your
needs.
A mini-glossary of the relevant terms is also included
to clarify any new words you may not be familiar with.
Remember to always check multiple credible sources before

ISBN: 978-1-60862-099-9 Edition: Paperback, 338 Pages Publication Date: December 2, 2009 Other Editions: Hardcover | Barack Obama created history by being the first African

one could achieve before. He laid the biggest milestone
in the journey-path of African Americans, who began it

difficult journey towards excellence, and winning their

This slogan became a wave of Obama-mania across the
United States, and a new hope surging through the

Responding to Crisis Situations Confronting Today’s African-American Youth Price:
$12.95
Quantity in Basket: none
ISBN: 978-1-60862-082-1 Edition: Paperback, 183 Pages Publication Date: August 13, 2009 | By: Reverend Dr. James R. Gibbs, Jr.
The book is a “how to” create a community-wide awareness
from a multi-cultural, interdenominational, holistic,
and theological perspective for at-risk and troubled
youth(s). It is based on my experiences as a Christian
educator, youth counselor and pastor. Through personal
witness of African-American youths, I have experienced
first-hand and swallowed the bitter pill of poverty,
violence, victimization and homicide.
African-American youth(s) are statistically the greatest
perpetrators of crime in the communities, and the lowest
academic achievers. It is my hope to create a greater
community-wide awareness at a time when society will
see black youth(s) beyond the playing field and look
for the real role models in their respective communities
such as; teachers, pastors, mothers, fathers, and
grandparents. In my book, I will place greater emphasis
on the role of parenting and education in influencing
youth(s) to partake in activities which will hone their
abilities and create positive outlooks on life. The
active involvement of various organizations, schools
and individuals could hasten the achievement of these
goals; for unity leads to revolutionary reform.
Interpersonal violence has a dramatic impact on the
health of American youth(s). Homicides, the salient
and easily measured impact, account for one of every
five deaths among youths, ages fifteen to twenty-four
and 58 per cent of deaths among black males fifteen to
nineteen. From 1985 through 1990, firearm homicide rates
increased 141 per cent for all fifteen-to-nineteen year
olds and nearly tripled among black males in this age
group.
Positive Adolescent Choices Training (P.A.C.T.) designed
specifically for African-American male and female
adolescents, applies cognitive training methods in small
group settings in six skill areas. Elementary school
teachers (preferably), select students for participation
based on social skill deficiencies, problems with
aggressive behavior, or history of victimization.
Training is provided twice a week in fifty minute
sessions for half of the school year. PACT volunteers
will facilitate the training and are aided by a
high-quality video tape that demonstrates the skills in
realistic situations.

EZ Pass Step 3 CCS - The Efficient USMLE Step 3 CCS Review - Second Edition Price:
$34.95
Quantity in Basket: none
ISBN: 978-1-60862-043-2 Edition: Paperback, 334 Pages Publication Date: May 25, 2009 | By: Alireza B. Esfahane, M.D.
The purpose of this book is to help you spend less time
memorizing all the details you will need to do well on
the CCS (Computer-based Case Simulations) questions in
your exam. This exam requires significant time, energy
and concentration, and the mnemonics provided in this
book will allow you to remember all the steps for
managing a patient’s care in an emergency room,
inpatient or office setting so that you can answer
questions quickly and accurately—saving your precious
time and energy by helping you better manage the
examination experience.
Efficiency is key to a successful examination experience,
so familiarity with the USMLE CD software will be
crucial. Know the normal values and their cut-off points
for the most widely used lab tests and don’t type
everything out in the ordering window. Inputting the
first 3 to 5 letters will bring up matching terms for
you to select. You can also use abbreviations, like TSH
and CXR instead of thyroid stimulating hormones and
chest X-ray as another way to save time when answering
questions.
There may be a few cases on the exam that you have never
encountered, but don’t panic; just follow the steps and
manage the patient in the appropriate setting (the
office or emergency room)—ordering labs, imaging and
meds as you go. If you handle the patients appropriately
you will be fine, even if your final diagnosis is not
correct or it seems that the patient’s condition
deteriorates.
The CSS portion of the exam is more about memorization
than being a good doctor. Memorization of the steps you
must follow to treat each patient in each case is of
primary importance. The methods I have described in this
book will help you master these steps so that you can
execute them efficiently and, paired with diligent
practice using the software provided by the USMLE, will
contribute greatly to your success on the CCS questions.

The truth is that Iran (the Persia of old) fractured

first; and provoking its schism later.
Further, the World identifies Islamic Men of Science,
and their stellar achievements, as Arab whereas, in
fact, they were all Persian and Turkomen.
